Project Description

Concept Note
This Project began from an interest in the aesthetics of the digital representation through assemblage and form made purely from machine logic. It posits to speculates on how contemporary ways of producing form in architecture could be operational through the process of procedural generation.

The virtual space where you will be is the interior of a hybrid spatial environment created though the techniques of procedural design using the architectural references of European Bavarian Rococo style churches and Korean temples from Confucianism architecture found and download from the internet called digital assets. These are used as an input material to generate artifact of unique forms. The environment offers experiencing of space existing between the realistic and impossible realities.
This Project is specifically focused on the aesthetics of architectural verticality of the context, meaning the vertical relationship within these architectural styles; ceiling space with fresco paintings, structures with columns and arches and poche with and stained glass openings - which are very closely related to the ornamental expressions of the overwhelming spaces of the religious and sacred places such as churches and temples.
The Procedural logic of the software governs the organization of each part and reorganizes them into a unique assembly of artifacts. Though this process, every artifact can be mass produced, unique in its own ways and holds its own right with coherent organization of parts of the discrete but at the same time creating an illusion of losing all references to produce sense of ambiguity.
